Cultural Diversity Training

Promoting awareness and understanding

Cultural Diversity Training is designed to honestly assess bias and teach how to make adjustments in order to gain understanding. Program specialists understand that emotions are elevated in our country, especially around race. This Training Program is offered as a one-two hour session per week in a series of sessions over a three-month span. Sessions include a sequence of activities that teach participants on how to become culturally competent of self and others. Each session covers content with specific exercises that explore how minority youth view public safety in their minds and why the gap needs to be bridged between community and public safety.  

Schedule/Duration

1 class per week for 12 weeks

Our Cultural Diversity Training aims to:

  • Deepen participants’ own cultural self-awareness.
  • Increase their understanding of the link between cultural self-awareness and cultural competence.
  • Identify cultural responsiveness.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and equitable environment where everyone can thrive.

PArentUp Parenting Skills Classes

Helping parents uplift their families, as well as themselves

The Parent UP model provides valuable skills and reliable evidence-based information on parenting/raising through the utilization of restorative practices. This approach promotes a positive relationship with the child, promoting their healthy growth and development. Parent education classes are designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills required to effectively discipline their children. These classes provide parents with a supportive community where they can learn and grow as individuals, while also gaining valuable insights into child development and behavior management. By attending these classes, parents can acquire the tools they need to nurture their children and help them reach their full potential. 

Schedule/Duration

1 class per week for 12 weeks

Class size

Classes contain between 5-10 individuals

PRe-Release Acclimation

The Pre-Release Acclimation program is designed to directly connect with the client and family in an ample amount of time prior to the youth being released in order to compose a projected plan that will allow for a robust support system upon being released. Youth will work one-on-one with a Program Specialist that allow for a successful reentry of the youth back into the community; specifically, by fostering improved family relationships and functioning, reintegration into school, and mastery of independent life skills, resiliency, and positive development to divert them from delinquent and other problematic behaviors.

Outcomes

  • Improve the odds of success for youth reentering the community. 
  • Successful implementation of the reentry plan for the youth.
  • Successful coordination and collaboration between agencies and across services and supports. 


Bullying Intervention

Promoting change from within

This program provides students who engage in bullying/harassment behavior with the tools necessary to make positive changes to their mindset, actions and life.    

Students will learn/experience:

  • Self-awareness of personal challenges.
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Character growth 

MAn up program

Male Aggression Nurtured Under Principles

Our MAN UP program provides strong male role models to young men who lack a supportive male figure in their life.

We set up the path for success by:

  • Addressing harmful and/or self destructive behavior. 
  • Facilitating the development of positive character and morality
  • Promoting academic integrity and success 
  • Reshaping negative perceptions of life, school, and masculinity.
